      Uncle Charlie was in World War I. He was in the Princess Pat Light Infantry Regiment out of Canada. They saw considerable action and Uncle Charlie had a silver plate in his head from a war wound. He must have joined after 1915 and before 1917. The USA entered
      the war in April of 1917. He was in his late 20's when he joined. Italy came into the War in May have 1915. Since he must have felt the ties to the home country he joined under the British Flag (Canada) You can find much information about the Regiment under Google. The had no Children and lead a very simple life. They made a living by doing sewing at home.

      1887, the 12th of March, at 11 am before Domenico Gottila, mayor, official of the Town of Ventimiglia, appeared Vittoria Cascino, 40, midwife, resident of Ventimiglia, she declares that at the hour of 1 am on the 9th of March in the home on Via Giardina, Francesca Cirrincione, age 28, wife of Gaetano Sparacio, 28, peasant, living outside, gave birth to a baby boy who they presented and named Salvatore. Witnesses to testimony are Salvatore Guardi and Pietro Nuccio. On the bottom in handwriting it says that the midwife is reporting the birth because Gaetano Sparacio is living outside the country. It doesn't specify where he is.

Handwriting on the bottom says that the marriage banns were posted on the door of the Town Hall on the 8th of the current month and 15th of last month.
