#117 Marriage of Giovanni Occhipinti and Salvatora Bocchieri May 20, 1899
1899, the 20«sup»th«/sup» of May at the hour of 11:30am in the town hall before Paolo Fortino, Mayor and official of the vital records office of Ragusa appeared Giovanni Occhipinti, widower, 36, picconiere, born in Ragusa, resident of same, son of Giuseppe and the late Giovanna Di Stefano; and also appeared Salvatora Bocchieri, single, 25, housewife, born in Ragusa, resident of same, daughter of Giuseppe and Concetta Vitale, and they have asked to be united in marriage. To this effect I have been presented the documents described below; the marriage banns were posted, and all documents inserted into the register of the attachments of this register, and with no opposition to the celebration of their marriage, I read to them the civil code and asked the groom if he takes for his wife Salvatora Bocchieri; and I asked the bride if she takes for her husband Giovanni Occhipinti, and having received their positive response, and before the witnesses listed below, I have pronounced them united in marriage. Witnesses to this testimony are Francesco Blundo, 40 and Giorgio Ottaviano, 48. Banns were posted on the 7«sup»th«/sup» and 14«sup»th«/sup» of this month. They had a dispensation because they were related in some way.
