      John M. Hovinetz Obituary
      John M. Hovinetz, 88 passed away at his home in Elyria Township, on Fri, May 19, 2017.
      Born July 24, 1928 in Lorain to the late Frank and Stephanie (Bailey) Hovinetz.
      He graduated in 1947 from Clearview High School. He married his high school sweetheart Beatrice (Bach) July 24, 1948 and shared 68 happy years together. He retired from US Steel after 38 years where he worked as an expeditor in #4 Seamless Mills.
      John was an active farmer, enjoyed the outdoors, watching sports, reading and doing crossword puzzles. He was a great story teller, with a sense of humor and infectious smile. His happiest times were spent with his close family where he taught them to be honest and caring.
      John is survived by his loving wife Beatrice: brother, George: children, Michael, Stephen (Bonnie), Rita (Chuck) Steinmetz, Joann (John) Struhar, Andrew, Julie Alley, Thomas, David and Ann: 12 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
      He was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, Stella, Frank, Irene (Goldie) and Edward.
      A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, May 27th. at 10:00 am at St. Vincent de Paul Church, 41295 N. Ridge Rd., Elyria, where John was a charter member. The Rev. Donald Dunson, Pastor will officiate. A private burial will be held at a later date.
      In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Building Fund.
      Arrangements are under the direction of the Wyers-Bollinger Funeral Chapel, 2900 North Ridge Rd, Elyria-440-324-3371.
