#121 Marriage of Giuseppe Occhipinti and Giovanna Di Stefano September 29, 1844
1844, the 27th of September at the hour of 8am before Calogero Criscione, Mayor and official of the vital records office of Ragusa, District of Modica, Province of Noto, appeared in the town hall Giuseppe Occhipinti, 21, born in Ragusa, Modica, Noto, farmer, resident of Via S. Veneranda, son of Francesco, 46, a farmer and Emmanuela Minardi, 44; and also appeared Giovanna Di Stefano, 21, born in Ragusa, resident of Via Alberto, daughter of Giorgio, 45, coach driver and Rosa Migliarisi, 44. They were married on the 29th of September 1844 in the church of S. Giovanni. Their respective parents were present and gave consent. Banns were posted on the 1st of September in Ragusa. Documents provided are the birth records of the bride and groom and the banns. Witnesses are Mario Inrato, 70, sifter, Giuseppe Iacono, 58, occupation (?), Emmanuele Occhipinti, 36, shoemaker and Tomaso Zago, 48, (I think occupation is butcher, but not sure).

#117 Marriage of Giovanni Occhipinti and Salvatora Bocchieri May 20, 1899
1899, the 20«sup»th«/sup» of May at the hour of 11:30am in the town hall before Paolo Fortino, Mayor and official of the vital records office of Ragusa appeared Giovanni Occhipinti, widower, 36, picconiere, born in Ragusa, resident of same, son of Giuseppe and the late Giovanna Di Stefano; and also appeared Salvatora Bocchieri, single, 25, housewife, born in Ragusa, resident of same, daughter of Giuseppe and Concetta Vitale, and they have asked to be united in marriage. To this effect I have been presented the documents described below; the marriage banns were posted, and all documents inserted into the register of the attachments of this register, and with no opposition to the celebration of their marriage, I read to them the civil code and asked the groom if he takes for his wife Salvatora Bocchieri; and I asked the bride if she takes for her husband Giovanni Occhipinti, and having received their positive response, and before the witnesses listed below, I have pronounced them united in marriage. Witnesses to this testimony are Francesco Blundo, 40 and Giorgio Ottaviano, 48. Banns were posted on the 7«sup»th«/sup» and 14«sup»th«/sup» of this month. They had a dispensation because they were related in some way.

1886, the 19th of July at the hour of 10:30am in the town hall of Ragusa before Francesco Bertini, official of the vital records office appeared Giovanni Occhipinti, single, 23, picker, born in Ragusa, resident of same, son of Giuseppe, a picker and Giovanna Di Stefano; and also appeared Carmela Bocchieri, single, 20, woman of the house, born in Ragusa, resident of same, daughter of Giuseppe, a tenant farmer and Concetta Vitale, and they have asked to be united in marriage. To this effect I have been presented the documents described below; the marriage banns were posted, and all documents inserted into the register of the attachments of this register, and with no opposition to the celebration of their marriage, I read to them the civil code and asked the groom if he takes for his wife Carmela Bocchieri; and I asked the bride if she takes for her husband Giovanni Occhipinti, and having received their positive response, and before the witnesses listed below, I have pronounced them united in marriage. Witnesses to this testimony are Biagio Laparelli, 74, shoemaker and Giovanni Iacono, 63, blacksmith. Banns were posted on the 4th and 11th of July.
